Basic References for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineers – 1

Let’s try to share the resources that engineers, especially those involved in R&D, need to have with them at all times in the process from design to product here.

A perfect book for especially new graduates and design engineers:

“Practical Stress Analysis for Design Engineers: Design & Analysis of Aerospace Vehicle Structures by Jean-Claude Flabel”

It can be said that it appeals more to mid and high-level experienced engineers. Although its presentation is not very reader-friendly, it is an undeniable fact that it is a fundamental book:

“Analysis and Design of Flight Vehicle Structures 1973 revised edition by E. F. Bruhn (Author)”

A book that offers practical solutions for almost every topic, although not as explanatory as Flabel:

“Airframe Stress Analysis and Sizing by Michael C. Niu”

A book that provides practical solutions for aircraft structure design:

“Airframe Structural Design: Practical Design Information and Data on Aircraft Structures by Michael Chun-Yung Niu”

Niu’s book on composite structures:

“Composite Airframe Structures by Michael Chun-Yung Niu”
